Page 1 of When are they gonna make a Transformers film?

Having watched the recent car advert featuring the dancing robot car (which, let`s face it, is a Transformer in all but name ) it`s really wetted my appetite for a live action Transformers movie. I`ve heard many rumours about it but nothing seems to be concrete.
Has anybody heard anything more reliable?
And who would be good for the voices?

Optimus Prime?
Megatron?
Sideswipe?
Starscream?

Dreamworks have it so I hope Spielberg takes a proper interest and doesn`t hire Paul Bleedin `W S` Fooking Anderson to direct it. Apparently the story will loosely follow "More than meets the Eye". That`s basically just how the get from Cybertron to Earth, but they can`t do it like they did in the cartoon (that just wouldn`t fly in today`s climate).

Summer 2006 is very unlikely unless we start hearing more about it.

I watched Transformers as a kid bit I was never a big fan (I didnt buy any of the toys for example) so Im unfamiliar with the origins of the story....how did they come to Earth from Cybertron? did they arrive as robots or were they already `transformers` when they got here...and if so how did they know what our cars and planes looked like before they arrived? :/

its questions like this that keep me awake at this time ..... :p

4 million years ago the Autobots and Decepticons crash landed on Earth, destroying everyone on board. Then their on board computer (the Autobots intelligence) becomes active again in our time. They were always Transformers, Robots in Disguise, they just looked different before coming to earth.

The cartoons were nothing but toy adverts, but I still like them :p ;)

Its held up better than the other great toy ad of the 80`s. Its hard to believe He-Man sucked so much ass.
