Hiya

I looked everywhere for this disk i couldnt find it,i know it is a bit expensive but u wanna look on ebay and see what they fetch a lot more than £27 that is u are lucky enough to find one.
This disc is only availible till the end of Aug then goes OOP so u gonna pay even more then
This is the only version on dvd to my knowledge and i dont think they have any plans to release it on anything else and if they do it will be probably be cut anyway.

Hi Samantha

Would you mind answering a couple of queries about the disc? Firstly, what`s the picture quality like and secondly whereabouts in the film does the `break` occur. I would like to buy the disc but the 4:3 transfer put me off initially - doing this to a Sergio Leone film is almost a criminal act! But as the film is one of my all-time faves (I think it`s as good, if not better, as the first two Godfather films) and it is the fullest version currently available, imagine a Director`s Cut version?, I think I will take the plunge after all.

Cheers

I believe the original was not filmed in widescreen. I think the format is called academy not sure if this is 4:3. They are showing this every so often on Sky cinema. Sometimes in 2 parts sometimes in one showing. Apparently the original could have been about another 30 mins long.

A Leone film not filmed in widescreen, wot ru on about mxm? Once Upon A Time In America was shot in the 1.85:1 ratio. The original Italian vers. was 9 mins. longer, although there has been rumours of Leone`s son and the studio assembling a 250 minute `director`s cut`, though I`m not too sure if this would be such a good idea?
