Page 1 of House Region 2 DVD?
DVDs & Films Forum
Does anyone know if there are any plans to release House M.D. (with Hugh Laurie) in region 2 before Christmas?? There`s no reason for them not to since te series has finished on Channel 5 now and its already been released in the U.S. Can`t seem to find any news on this, Can anyone help?
So what does the ordinary person think of House? I`ve read the comments made by professionals paid to give their opinions.
I like the show as a whole, but I have a problem with Hugh`s accent. It`s not a big problem since it doesn`t keep me from tunining in week after week. The accent HL used in Stuart Little was less distracting though.
House is not a medical drama, its a black comedy.
Whats wrong with his accent. I wouldn`t challenge whether it sounded american since it does and there are far more regional accents in the US than I will have heard on TV or on film (Fargo forinstance produced a strange one that probably hasn`t appeared in any other popular film)
Fargo accent: many people said they didn`t speak like that in Fargo but apparantly they do. (about one third down).

The coen brothers came from that area, they knew what they sounded like, they`d grown up with it
love Hugh and the daft medical problems and Billy from neighbours and the daft medical problems and the other bloke that`s his friend but can`t remember his name and the daft medical problems oh and the monster trucks and the daft medical problems and thats what happens every week and the daft medical problems of course. But its on at the wrong time so I`ve only seen about 5 episodes and they all had daft medical problems in them. Is he a doctor then?

Re Hugh`s accent-it`s not actually stated he`s an American.
I think a clue was given at the end of one of the early episodes when he was seen wearing a deerstalker hat. Not typical American headgear?
