Bound is a great film - if I had to put it into a genre, it would be classed as a neo-noir lesbian thriller; but it depends if you want gay to mean two men or two women. Either way, it is a terrific film.

the wizard of oz. it`s a beautiful life, there are many happy movies out there ;)

on topic tho, if you haven`t watched both the english & american versions of queer as folk then do so imediately. they are both superb, but watch the english version first as you can get the whole lot for less than £25 (only did 1 full season then a 2 episode finale for season 2)

EDIT= In fact it is only £17.99p delvered for both seasons at PLAY

ps...... the american version ran for a full 5 seasons & fleshed out & fulfilled most of the english plotlines, hence the reason you MUST watch the english version first :D

+ it was created & largely written by our very own Russel T Davies of Dr Who fame.

dubious that Bound qualifies as a gay movie. More of a straight guy bonefest.

Beautiful Thing is a must as is the Queer as Folk series (watch the UK series first as previously mentioned).

Girls will be girls is a great campy trashy gay movie as well, not mainstream but great fun for a night in front of the box with a few freinds and some drinks.

However there are 1,000s of gay themed movies out there and "about gay movies" is the definative site which will give you all the info you need.

Don`t expect to like everything though as some of the camper stuff like the classic "la cage au folles" (the original French not the Robin Williams fiasco of a remake) doesn`t suit everybody. The deeper films like "Midnight Express" or "Kiss of the SpiderWoman" can be tough going also.

Happy hunting.
