So Long, Farewell, Auf Wiedersehen, Adieu :(

Today I retire (that`s private pensions for you). It is my birthday. I am 60 (tell me about it!).
It is also the target age I said I would quit here (and also the day I told bloody Onetel to cut me off). I was going to mention it yesterday but got stuck on other stuff on here and in this premises (natch).
So.........
I want to thank so many on here for the past five or so years. I can`t mention any as I am fearful of leaving someone out, far too many. Apart from a precious few (grrrrr), you have all been just amazing.
This place has taught me so much, not just about PC`s (the bloody DVD Recorder still will not function!) but about other lives, and your thoughts.
Several are in my thoughts and...moreso...in my prayers. You know who you are (more ambiguity).
I hope that those that have e-mailed me over the years will still do so from time-to-time.
Thanks to those that sent me CD`s with music and programmes.;)
I am, regretably (for Britain was just the best country in the world until the last 10 years),moving back to Australia in a few weeks and back into a life I had all but forgotten. I have been in the UK since 1968. I hope Andy finally does get to see his "home."
A very special mention to all the lovely women on here. Appreciate them much more guys!
So, with an incredibly sad heart, I bid you all adieu and hope that one day you discover the best thing possible. Keep searching, it is already there, waiting.
Thanks everyone for your company, patience and time.Appreciated.
Ta.
Batavia, over-and-out.
PS. I will unfortunately, I guess, have to hand back the Drama Queen t/shirt. It never actually fitted anyway, I was merely being polite. :)
Now how in the hell do I sign outa here? Gotta do it before I get cut off! This took me forever.

RE: Evesham Technology 32

I found on my LCD that the sharpness control gave the blurry/morphing type images. I have it only one "notch" up and nothing via HDMI.
Terrestrial doesn`t look as good as on an ordinary TV, though I have found my LCD (not the same make) has settled down a bit and the picture is a lot better when I first had it.

Nope, not a thing going on in the old memory bank. With a nick like that you would think I would remember! :/

rather being vaguer than the Dungeon Master

Precisely what I meant by the "annoying bastard, etc."
I do it in "real life". Intentionally.
And you wanna know why, I guess, is the next question.
Cos I want to see where it leads ........ I simply do not know, but DO want to know the ins, outs and where it MIGHT lead.
Organic, if you will. I have lots of questions (in life) and just no answers. Nothing is "fixed."
As I said, I do it in "real life", I realise it is ambiguous and I realise that it can be very, very annoying.
And I do want to see (as said) what the outcome might be and how it gets there.
The original subject was just "as is", nothing more.
I will add. Hopefully along the way we learn a little more about each other..and ourselves. Important. Even though it is "just" the Internet.
Sometimes threads die instantly. This one, mysteriously, did not. That I find interesting.
I can be so very annoying.
Get your lips around that one. ;)

RE: Two More Regulars Have Signed Off Permanently

Hmmm. Difficult question.
I, of course, had no idea where it would lead. It might have dropped dead on arrival, who knows? The risk.
But it took a life of its own, as I had hoped., no idea as to where it would go.
Has it been interesting? For me, yes. I can`t speak for others. Some energy has come back.
And other things.

Intentional? Hmmmmm.

There is nothing better or more entertaining than a flame war.

In your opinion, OK. Not in mine, OK?
My view is on Internet forums (not "reality"?) is if you don`t say it in "real life" then don`t say it on a forum.
Too many presumtions are made about people they don`t really know, but figure they do (projection of self).
Sheeesh, we should be helping each other through this damnable thing called life not damaging it or making it even more difficult. Pure and simple.

RE: James Cameron unveiling the coffin of Mr. Jesus Christ on Monday....

Newspaper quote:
However the archaeologist who oversaw the work at the tomb described the theory as "nonsense."
Amos Kloner said the names found on the coffins had been found in tombs before, adding "It makes a great story for a TV film, but it`s impossible.
Jesus and His (my capital) relatives were a Galilean family with no ties in Jerusalem.
The Talplpot tomb belonged to a middle-class family from the first century.

RE: I know this should be in the hardware bit but....

Got a machine to play them on? If so, is the quality THAT much better?

RE: I know this should be in the hardware bit but....

Are people actually buying HD/Blue-ray DVD`s or they just going to end up like beta/umat (which were better quality than VHS)?

RE: Some bast&%d got hold of my Visa card detail

Visa/Barclaycard have a free Internet thingy where you are covered by fraud. Sometimes an added box pops up when a transaction is made where you have to fill in a password that is set up with Visa/Barclycard.

RE: Two More Regulars Have Signed Off Permanently

Not so. I actually waited a month to see if anyone cared enough to notice. That was merely my premise for starting the thread. Does anyone care enough to notice when regulars leave, not who or why they left.
I was quite surprised to see that not that many actually did notice.
As I knew why and when they left and had been asked not to say, I kept that request.
Merely that.
I`m off to jhave a tooth extracted. That is REAL drama! >:(

RE: James Cameron unveiling the coffin of Mr. Jesus Christ on Monday....

Henry the eighth was not born in 1491 as told. This date was made to fit in with the sun aligning with the moon and replaced a pagan festival.
He had 18 (mystical number) wives, not 6 and one was his mother, sister and brother (as he was a mystical bisexual, as can be seen by the Signs of the Crop Circles). He had no children so the royal lineage went off to some obscure French peasants who now carry the royal blood and live in the Pyrenees. An obscure, little known sect called The True Royal Blood of the Pyreneans.
He did not die in 1547 but has become immortal and remains hidden until the time is right, which will probably be to replace another pagan festival when the moon aligns with the sun. The Fall of the Two Towers (not LOTR, but notice the mystical conincidence?!) are a sign....but I can`t say anymore on this, it is far, far to secret. Just Google and you will find loads of info. If you dare face the Reality.
His remains are not in Westminster Abbey.
He was, of course, never king of England.
It was all a well documented lie that billions have believed for centuries.
A film will be made of the truth and not The Truth and directed by none other than Quentin Tarantino, from the new book by Norman Mailer.
