Laurel and Hardy help

Paul Waddington (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Thursday, 5th January 2006, 08:42

I`ve bought the 21 disc collection and the recent definitive collection, but could anyone tell me the best of the rest to buy (both their films as a partnership and their solo shorts) to add to these.

As the films are mainly in the public domain there seems to be countless collections and I presume the quality varies, but I just really want to know the best versions to buy to add the films that are not in the other two collections (eg, Babes in Toyland, Bonnie Scotland, The Devil`s Brother, The Slippery Pearls, etc).

You must be psychic - I was going to post a very similar question!

Basically, I wanted to know what boxset to get and what films/shorts aren`t included. I think "Laughing Gravy" should be able to help if he`s about.... :)

The german special editions are an excellent alternative to the universal boxsets. Most of them have additional shorts and rare shorts as added special features.
Quality is impeccable.
