Requiem for a Dream - Directors Cut

Apparently there is a directors cut of Requiem for a Dream available in the states, with a run time of 102 mins.
This should give a PAL run time of 98 mins, but on the BBFC site it says that it runs at 97mins with no cuts.
Does anybody know if it was pre cut by the distributor, and if the Directors Cut is worth getting?

Cheers people.

I saw it in the cinema over here, and then bought the DVD from the States, and I can`t notice any differences. I think in the States you can either buy the Directors cut, or an edited version. I know the menus are much different in the UK version, but apart from that I don`t think there is anything different.

It`s worth getting whatever version, truly one of the best films I`ve ever seen.

I think you will find that the Directors cut which I was on about was delayed by 3 months so more extra`s could be added. Do you have the DVD, because there is already a shed load of extra`s. I can`t see what else could be added.

from what i hear the UK version IS the director`s cut. but in the states they only passed that as a NC-17, the kiss of death, so they cut a R version too
