Playing all-region NTSC dvds on Toshiba sd110e

norman stone (Competent) posted this on Saturday, 13th October 2001, 11:26

I have bought an all-region NTSC copy of Space Cowboys. How do I get it to play on my toshiba player? I get a message saying "NOT PAL".

It can be done but I just don`t know how. I have a new JVC 28-widescreen television which suposedly can handle NTSC.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Rgds.

ps. I have not "hacked" the player yet but will eventually make it multi-region.

press set up and change the output fom "PAL" to "AUTO", that should sort it out.

That helps BUT it only plays in black & white. The region 2 disc still plays in colour.

I think I need to swap the cabling around, something to do with RGB???

I`m not sure about all that, can you help further?

It should display in full colour if you use a fully wired scart lead. You should then set the output of the player to RGB and use scart socket number 1 on the TV.
Hope this helps.
