Ok.. so the plot is ridiculous, the twist is transparent.. but what a ride!...

loud, brash, stlylish and above all great fun... chainsaws, tank rifles, guns, knives, playing cards.... loved it...

what about the ritilin kid with a hard on... absolute classic..

Yeah saw it last week, really great film, gotta be on the ball at the start as they hit you with a lot of names. But overall brilliant fun.

Reminded me a bit of Domino at the end with the shootout near the lifts and that.

Just been to seen this and to be honest I thought it was a mess, there were some good parts to it but they were on the whole the gratuitous violence. The dialogue was mumbled in a way reminiscent of Miami Vice and as a result the plot (which was probably paper thin) was almost impossible to follow. Furthermore there seemed to several tranches of the plot which were inserted to simply to find a place for a single joke (the ADD kid with the nunchucks was the main culprit) as a result it seemed over-long.


That`s the saltiest thing I ever tasted, and I once ate a big heaping bowl of salt.

Aside from the ridiculous plot, twist that I saw after the first act, the annoying black lesbian hitwomen and the overlong ending, it was surprisingly enjoyable. It seemed like the whole film was on cocaine, with everything `turned up to eleven`: the dialogue, the violence, the story, the colour palette and the performances.

After the second act, what was needed was a quick `True Romance` type ending where all the assassins took each other out, allowing for the denouement, but the insane shootout and double/triple/quadruple character changes led to the third act really dragging.
Good fun, but too long and too predictable.

actually.. only one of them was gay.. the other was Alicia Keys..

They were annoying because of the stupid gansta patois that they spoke; much of the time, it was hard to make out what they were actually saying. It wasn`t just the two hitwomen, it was their `employer`. The fact they they were black lesbians was irrelevant but just helped identify them. The neo-Nazi lunatics were also annoying but didn`t have a pathetic romantic sub-plot hindering their killing sprees.

You seem to be confusing erotica with romance! :p

Just got back from watching now, that`s the most confused film I`ve ever scene.

It really can`t decide on what tone it wants to go down, slightly comedic characters or simply going ridiculously over the top cartoonish characters or Ryan Reynolds who`s character seemed to be from a completly different film.

Saying that I did enjoy it, and is worth a watch it`s just a shame as there is the potential for a very good film but doesn`t quite make it.

Have to disagree on the kid though, probably the worst most pointless part of the film. :o

My DVD collection

Enjoyed it, but agree with 1mills in that some of it just doesn`t gel. The little Ritalin kid was annoying. But the Tremors were hilarious.

Seemed to shape up like an American Snatch/Lock Stock, but not as coherent or, well, good. But fun all the same.

Best film about hitmen (or A hitman) is still Grosse Pointe Blank, of which Piven is also in 8) Now that is a perfect film! :D
