Page 1 of FRIDAY problems on acoustic player

I bought FRIDAY (starring ICE CUBE) from the virgin shop and tried to play it on my acoustic soloutions 551 dvd player. They player locks up and display`s two vertical bars on the lcd screen. All functions stop working. I have to turn power off and back on again to get the dvd out.

I tried the same dvd on a toshiba player and it played ok. I even had the disk exchanged at the shop but the same problem again. all other dvds play fine on the acoustic player even region one disk are ok.

FRIDAY was a region 2 disk and should in theory play with out problems.

Can anyone advise

I had similer problems with a number of Region 1 and 2 disks.
I sorted the problem by changing the speaker settings(VSS caused the 551 to lock up with distorted images on screen.The player works fine now using "Stereo" or "L & R" settings.
