Does anyone watch any of the direct to dvd sequels that keep getting released?
I`m on about the one`s to good/big films.
Ones that spring to mind are
American Psycho 2
Dusk Til Dawn 2/3
Behind Enemy Lines 2
Butterfly Effect 2
Wild Things 2/3
Carilto`s Way: Rise To Power
American Pie Band Camp/ Naked Mile
Just wondering because I`ve never even bothered watching any of them (although I bought Carlito`s Way: Rise To Power for £2 a while back).
I`m just wondering how these films manage to make their money back.

gf has Dusk till Dawn 2 and 3, she`s watched them I haven`t
in Choices at the weekend, I saw 8mm 2 ! I left it on the shelf.

No I generally don`t. The only ones from your list that I have are the From Dusk Till Dawn ones, as I bought the trilogy box set.
They are utter tripe.
Made the mistake of watching Single White Female 2 a while back and wished I hadn`t.
Trust me - don`t bother with any of them. We all know in our hearts that if a sequel were any good it would get a theatrical release.

Don`t forget Cruel Intentions 2 and 3, and god knows how many Bring It On films there are now.
Oh yeah and Walking Tall 3 is out in September! All utterly pointless, so why are they made? Because average joe moron will rent them out because they like the original.
It`s the same with video games based on films/tv shows. 99% of them are s***e, they all get rubbish reviews, yet sell by the bucketload on the name.
Until the general public become less stupid and naive, expect to see alot more of these coming our way.

Walking Tall 3 :/ I remember seeing an advertisement for the second one the other day now and thinking that was ridiculous.
I rememered another, the sequel to John Carpenter`s Vampires (which was near enough direct to dvd itself) but deserves a mention purely for having Bon Jovi as it`s star.

Don`t forget the reason they`ve gone straight to dvd over here is because they were released in test screenings over there (US or OZ) and did s***e..

Not completely true Stantz. Most newer titles are made only for DVD release. Studios have divisions just for straight to DVD sequel releases.
Have seen a few of the sequels, purely out of interest. The third Bring It On film is quite good fun (if you`re a chick, or have the hots for Hayden Panatierre). Can`t really comment on the others as I can`t remember what I`ve seen of the top of my head.

We used to hire DTV a lot way back in the 80s, and sometimes they were even better than some of the top releases, but during the mid 90s they started to become unwatchable, and now the only Direct to DVDs that are worth watching, are either from Europe or Asia.
