saw the (proper) trailer last month. Does indeed look incredible. Most apocalyptic movies (ID4, Cloverfield, I am legend) tend to concentrate on `surface damage`. the scale of destruction displayed in the trailer at least is mind-blowing.
I`m not up on Mayan Mythology, but i`m assuming 2012 is the end of the Mayan calendar (and an alignment of the planets, im led to believe) so in their eyes, once the calendar ends, so does the planet.
And no-one thought to make a better calendar? on that didn`t run out? That Julius caesar bloke seemed to have the right idea. "Count UP, that`s the key"

Haha, the fake trailer gave me a chuckle :D
"All future catastrophes will be compared to this film!" :D
Your trailer is definitely better Miles! :D
As far as I know Stantz, no they didn`t predict the end of the world in 2012, but that`s the common translation that seems to have entered popular consciousness. I remember reading that a scientist proved that their calendar doesn`t run out at all, but starts at the beginning like every other calendar. It`s just something to do with planetary movement and how they align over this period etc. Of course, now the internet has hold of it, it means we`re all doomed. :D

Galbadia Hotel returns! Classic videogame OST`s and more.
Even though I`ve read all the facts from people who actually studied the Myans (in that the long count is simply the end of one era, not the end of everything), I still can`t help but feel uneasy whenever there`s a new `extinction level event` movie on the horizon. It was the same with Deep Impact, Knowing and others. Just makes me think that something like that isn`t out of the realms of possibility, which is a bit s***. Not a lot I can do about it though I suppose. Even if we are all going to be f***ed in 2012 the powers that be wouldn`t tell us this far off, so I`d better not start spending all my money on coke and whores just yet.

Nah, give it a few more weeks at least.
Heh, that looks fun in an Independence Day/Day After Tomorrow/Leave Your Brain at Home kind of way.
