Mario Kart on the GameCube?

MadPom (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Friday, 26th July 2002, 09:53

Done a bit of trawling on Google for this, and a few sites mentioned a Mario Kart demo a year or so ago, but I`ve not seen any news of whether it will be released or not. Reason I`m asking if anyone knows is `cos I`m torn between getting a PS2 or a GC, mainly for Simpsons Road Rage, but if there is a new MK coming out soon that would sway me to the GC. Any help anyone???

Cheers
Rob!

No it`s not. It tried to be. Crazy Taxi is a good game. Simpsons RR is not.

I`ve played Simpsons Road Rage on my m8`s PS2 and love it - which is why I wouldn`t mind it myself. I have got Crazy Taxi on the DreamCast which is ok, but doesn`t have enough gameplay to make you stick at it (nothing to earn etc). Oh I am a Simpsons nut before you ask!

I`ve just managed to answer my own question about a possible Mario Kart on the GameCube - this is what Nintendo say...

"Mario Kart has been announced as a possible future title for Nintendo GameCube. So far, only an early technical demonstration has been shown, so it`s too early to say very much about it.

Stay tuned for more information! "

So guess I might buy a PS2 then....hmmmmm ;-)

You can get simpons road rage on the GC and the cube is a far better machine, you`d have to be mad to buy a PS2! DON`T DO IT!!!!!

Rare are said to be doing a Donkey Kong Racing game.

Have you got a GBA ? Mario Kart Advance is superb, best version yet.

Nintendo have released a version of Mario Kart on each console ever since the SNES. The game is great. Nintendo aren`t dumb, there is no question about it, they are going to release a version of this game on the Gamecube. Like Wad said Rare are producing Donkey Kong Racing which lets you ride animals, sounds set to be oe of THE great racing games.
With rumour that Nintendo won`t be developing any further consoles surely the only reasonable assumption is that they will prioduce Mario Kart for Gamecube. Why hand over one of their plentiful bounty to the "competition" (if thats what you call it.) When you can keep your current supporters happy. It`ll sell tonnes, if they dont release it theyre fools.

I did a swap for Simpsons Road Rage on GC...only cost a Fiver and although i dont like the Simpsons , i thought it was a lot better than the IGN review.

I usually go by the Gamefaqs reviews from ordinary gamers like ourselves.
