The Thing and Terminator - PS2

duncsy (Competent) posted this on Sunday, 8th December 2002, 13:05

I have been thinking about getting the above two games for Christmas. Does anyone know if they are worth getting and how good are they?

Thanks in advance.

The Thing is meant to be good, very atmospheric but not really in the same league as Resident Evil... sadly, Terminator is meant to be a bit pants.

If PS2 "The Thing" is the same as the PC version, it starts off OK, but goes down hill. The testing kits are useless as characters turn at set points in the game regardless. You can test someone as ok, turn a corner and they transform in to a Thing. The suspense is lost as a Halflife type plot kicks in and leaves no surprises. NPCs arent needed to get through the game and so the trust system is unneccessary.
I got so far through it, near the end, and playing it became such a chore that I never bothered to finish it.
