Page 1 of Splinter Cell - how do you get past the burning stairwell

Anyone how to get past the burning stairwell in the first near the start of the game ?

Er, walk in the bit where there is no fire next to the railing. If you`ve done that and you`re on the next floor down, you need to reach up to the pipe overhead to get over the gap, which cannot be jumped.

Don`t wish to be rude, but did you try the tutorial? :)

i did do the tutorial but didn`t think of that. should have looked up and i would have seen the pipe.
