Page 1 of How often do you finish games ?

I`ve finally completed Eternal Darkness on the cube. Its very rare I finish a game these days, Zelda (Ocarina) on the N64 was probably the last time. Something about this game kept me playing though, I was sort of disappointed to get to the end.
This seems a bit odd though, you don`t often watch half a movie (unless its got Hugh Grant in it), or read half a book. So what about you lot, how many unfinished games sit on your shelves ?
RE: How often do you finish games ?
Lots and lots. It really bugs me. I am playing super mario sunshine at the moment and it is very annoying because there are so many coins to collect in it. I am also stuck on starfox half way through and cannot get any further. I agree with what you are saying. Also Zelda was the last game I completed too and it took ages. Eternal darkness is quite short and very linear.
I have never completed any games, except for beat `em ups (short, easy and linear); the odd platformer; GoldenEye on the N64; and football games (Fifa etc.).
But, I have technically finished more - for example TimeSplitters - by completing all the levels, but a few things are not done that make it 100% cracked: i.e. bonus levels.

I was under the impression that Eternal Darkness had about 20-30 hours of gameplay. I`m playing Eternal Darkness at the moment and, hopefully, I will finish it!
Anyhoo, I`m pretty crap at finishing games too!
Voorhees, which part of Starfox are you having trouble with? The girlfriend is stuck on this particular game too...the flying dinosaur/four tower stage of the game. It`s had her swearing for quite a while now!

As an unwritten rule I tend to avoid games that are long and deep, as I know that there is no way I will be able to complete them and will therefore feel inadequate again. Saying that I finished some guff called `Hugo` on my daughter`s Psone yesterday, took me 1 hour from start to finish. My current nemesis is chuffing Harry Potter and his freaking stone, cannot for the life of me get past the big tentacle that comes after you defeat the devil`s snare. This is despite ALL my friends telling me how to do it and with a walkthrough!
I guess I`m just crap!, bring back Joust - now I could do really well at that!!
cheers.
Not very often.
Games that I have completed on the PS2:
Nightfire
The Two Towers
Star Wars Bounty Hunter and Jedi Starfighter
I did well to finish these. Still play GTA: VC a lot though.
RE: How often do you finish games ?
I am stuck at the fear test in Krazoa palace. You have to keep the red line within the green area but I am finding it impossible to that. It is really annoying me as I can`t progress any further.
RE: How often do you finish games ?
I`ve always found Rare games an arse to finish, I think I`ve only done Goldeneye and Starfox. I always get near to the end but can`t finish them.
I finished Sunshine, but don`t need to go back and get every item, I don`t think it`s what gaming is about.
Don`t get me started on Halo, I`ve done the last run 40 or so times, getting to within a couple of second on the hardest setting, but I`ve got that far, so it`s sort of finished, keep telling myself that anyway.
By the way in Starfox, I shot most of the towers down on the first run round on the Bird, use your index finger to tap bloody fast on the fire button, shoot all the little wotnots, and aim for the towers between shots. I was using a Wavebird as well!
I have just finished Zelda the Wind Waker.....its the first game i have completed in months, most of my games are half finished but i made a point on finishing this game.....it was a treat from start to finish and i can`t wait for the US release to see what the story was about.
The end battle in this game was one of the finest battles ever....don`t want to give away any spoilers!
I prefere RPGs and i always finish the RE games but i can`t find much time these days to put in.
Next in line is Metroid Fusion for my GBA SP....have played about an hour of it and am well into it.
Ps....for those of you that dont know, the new GBA SP does,nt take batteries, its got a built in rechargable battery that comes with its own power supply.
I discovered this after buying two 12 packs at the local market.

Never seem to find the time to finish games, your half way through one when another comes out and you start playing that and the olde one gets forgotton about...
