anyone know if it`s worth getting the pc version if you already have it on x-box, ie are ther any different maps/weapons etc or are the only improvements eye candy.

thanks in advance

There are:

* new multiplayer terrains
* new multiplayer weapons
* new multiplayer vehicles
* supports 1600x1200 hires

Halo UK website

So, lot`s of extra multiplayer stuff, I think....plus the game is said to have been improved over the XBox game. If you already own the XBox one, I`m not sure if it`s worth getting the PC game too just for these few extras. Unless you want to play in a high resolution across a network...

I bought it for the PC even though I`ve already got it on me Xbox already.
It`s either my eyes or its got visually worse on the PC and I`ve got a Radeon 9800 256mb Pro so its not my graph card lowering it!

If you play online get it, if not stick with your Xbox version because the new additions are really only implemented on the multiplayer aspect of the game.

They`ve spoiled the perfectly balanced weapons on the PC version as well, the Flamethrower and the Fuel Rod Gun which is like the weapon that grunts have near the end of the Xbox game are way over the top.

Its easier to Network Xboxes than it is to network PCs, I can remember having a mate bring his PC round, too many wires and hastle.
Just plug it into a tele, link up the consoles and your done otherwise :)

hope my rambles helped :)

this post is fairly old, and i already went and got the pc version since i posted this thread, and i have to agree that (for me) the x-box version is still better than the pc version tho in all truth i`ve not been able to get the pc version running properly see here-------> http://www.dvd.reviewer.co.uk/forums/thread.asp?Forum=292&Thread=219441&Type=1

I just uninstalled it tonight because the game sucks on the PC. I`ve been spoilt by much better games, in both gameplay and graphics on the PC now, and for me Halo looked old hat.

A huge amount of people have had problem running this game, because it`s a poorly done port. I`ve seen peeps with 3 gig processors and good gfx cards struggle to get good frame rates.

My problem was the graphics weren`t up to much and the gameplay is a bit tired.

Each to their own, but I think Halo is a huge let down.

But it is still an awesome game on the XBox - one of the best FPS`s ever.

Just played the demo on the PC. I`d call it average. Its lost something in the port... and the graphics seem to clean.

Ok here we go. apart from the mutiplayer terrains and what not the PC version is a direct lift from the XBOX version. The XBOX has a Nvidea card which means it will run perfect on a PC if you happen to have a Nvidea card. If however your like me and have a Radeon then the game runs crap. So for those who are noticing a difference between the versions then you most likely have a Radeon.

EDIT - forgot to say that from the demos of Half-Life 2 that are floating around it`s looking as though theve done the opposite with this one. People with Radeon cards should be able to play HL2 no problem and those with Nvidea will be noticing some problems

hope this helps some

strange that, as my card is nvidia based (even get drivers direct from nvidia) the game still runs crap to the extreme. >:(
