Gaming and Consoles Forum
Just wondering if theres any people interested in taking advantage of Xbox chipping and everything it has to offer, including playing backups, watching any movie file including DIVX/Xvid all off the internal HD of the Xbox.
If anybody has any queries about it, then please email me at ozzyo99`at`hotmail[dot]com id be very happy to help, or answer questions.
Really does open up a whole new world for the Xbox usage, especially if you enjoy movies aswell as gaming.
Cheers

Hi Jimbo
I`m considering getting mine chipped but don`t want to loose Live. I have a DivX DVD player so its only really MAME, and the Neo Geo emulators I`m interested in.
I thought that adding a hard disk would lead to an instant band but thereisn`t enough space for the normal apps & emu on the standard HDD.
I`m not interested in the dodgy game side of things, multi region gaming might be nice.
How much hassle is a mod chip to fit?
Whats the basic cost?
What are your top 4 perks of modding?
I have approx 6 soundtracks on the HDD which I replace when I`m bored of them. If I added mame etc would I have to loose the soundtracks? no one seems to know how much space an album takes up. It must be between uncompressed 700Mb and fully zipped 70Mb but where.
I like `Live` and am not sure modding will bring enough benefits I would be intersted in your comments
i got a chipped xbox and i`m playing Live fine
for me the best thing about having a chipped xbox is because i can network it to my pc
then play divx files by streaming directly through the network
no need extra hdd space, use my pcs ;)
by the way with the current modchip sold u wont get banned easily
mine is modded with xenium with 160GB hdd
great divx player with HUGE hdd space + ability to stream
come and challenge my Chokie Monsta`
cokie enjoy
I think it depends if the xbox was registered on live in march and the mod has happened since. I have been registed since the beta finished so don`t want to loose the live side of things.
What emus/progs are you playing the most?
Cheers
