Page 1 of XBox vs PS2

I know flyingmonkey started a similar thread but I was wondering if the results were different based on the fact that I already own one of the consoles.

I am considering exchanging my PS2 for an Xbox, principally as I fancy a change. The main games I`m playing on my PS2 are NFS Underground, PES3 and Prince of Persia. There is no way I could own both consoles as I don`t have the time or money to support both.

Anyone offer any advise as to why I should/ shouldn`t go for it?

both those games are available on the x-box, so thats not a problem, but as for which you should own, thats a piece of string question :) i much much prefer my x-box, but only cos i spent money getting it chipped, i probably wouldn`t use it at all otherwise as i mainly use it for.
playing downloaded divx/xvids (better than watching them on the pc) multi-region dvd player (without arsing around with boot discs etc) halo (much better than halo 2 imo) and the most important thing, MAME thousands of "proper" arcade games :D
but if it`s just for games, the best thing you can do is have a mooch around, see which console has the games you want.

Burnout 3`s available on the Xbox too which is loads better than NFSU (imho).

Tbh, my bro`s got a PS2 and with the exception of GTA:SA there isnt one game that makes me want to own one. I buy 1 game probably every 3 months (maybe less) so a smaller catalogue of games isnt really a problem for me and most games are multiformat now anyway and they all look better on the Xbox.

no, i think it`s a mad catz (the one with a project gotham 2 save game pre-installed with 1000 kudos points) it`s allways worked ok, i only use it when i`m backing up my halo saves etc, paid a fiver for 2 cards inc postage from ebay :)

oh right. Its just that, you know that softmod hack i was going on about a while ago? well to load the softmod onto the xbox you need to get it onto an official memory card (apparently any other brand corrupts the save).

But to get it onto the official memory card you need to ftp the file onto a modded xbox then save it onto the card. the guy at work who did it, did it by hotswapping his harddrives, which im not keen to do.

And i dont know anyone else whos got a card! (and im too tight to buy one;))

yeah it`s gotta be an official card :( they used to be on ebay (ready done) for about £25 but tbh for double that you can probably get a proper modchip.
