Pipex/Xbox Live/Modem Router Advice

Top Gunner (Competent) posted this on Tuesday, 8th March 2005, 12:58

Hi all.

I`m gonna be getting Pipex 1MB Broadband so have a few dilemmas/questions.

1. I need to purchase a modem/router, a lot of people have recommended this one:

Ebuyer Modem/Router

can anyone confirm if this 1 will do the job? Is it worth paying out more for a branded modem router?

2. Where is the cheapest place to get an Xbox Live Starter Kit?

Cheers.

1. Yes. No particular benefit in buying a pricier modem/router that I can see, but I suppose on some level you get what you pay for. Still, at that price, if it goes kaput after 6 months, it`s not the end of the world, and there are usually plenty of second hand ones on ebay.

2. Got my latest starter kit for my 12 month Live renewal from Amazon - £29.99, and free P&P if you don`t mind waiting a few days extra with their SuperSaver postage.

Game had got the X-Box starter kit for £19.99 a couple of weeks ago. I don`t know if that was a special offer though.

Cheers

I think it was a limited time offer, Si - I found out about it too late, went in to check whether it was still running and was told that the offer had finished :(

Thanx for the reply guys.

I have purchased the modem/router from ebuyer so just need to wait for that to arrive & for my broadband to be activated.

Damn, I thought I saw a post a while ago for Xbox Live for £19.99, oh well look`s like I will have to purchase it for about £30 then.

Cheers.
