Clarification on connecting Xbox to internet
Apologies for being a bit thick on this
Rang NTL the other day as they are currently doing a package for £30 a month which consists of phone, basic digital cable TV package & 1mb broadband connection
Now the lady down the sales line told me that I needed a computer at home to register Xbox to connect to Internet.
Does`nt the Xbox live starter kit do this for you? or do i need a PC at home (don`t have one) to register.
Also is 1mb connection fast enough for Xbox Live?
RE: Clarification on connecting Xbox to internet
you dont need a pc just a straight ethenet come from your xbox to your router or cable modem thats it and yes \1mb fast enough for live 8)
RE: Clarification on connecting Xbox to internet
512 KBPS is fast enough for live. 1 meg should be fine

Sorry
But whats an ethenet & where do i get one? :/
RE: Clarification on connecting Xbox to internet
An ethernet cable is the cable that links the Xbox to your modem and/or the network card on your PC. I have a Netgear modem which I attach to my PC`s network card with one ethernet cable and my Xbox with another ethernet cable. This allows me to use Xbox live without having to have my PC turned on. If you have a PC and want to use it to connect to the internet and also play Xbox Live this is a good way of doing it.
The modem I have is the Netgear DG834 and I can highly recommend it. I bought it 6 months ago for about £50 I think.
Hope this helps.
