RE: Charger for Xbox 360 Wireless Contoller
Thanks for your help on this. I think I`ll purchase one of these new things.
All the best.
Charger for Xbox 360 Wireless Contoller
Hello, I know there`s a play and charge kit available to buy for the wireless controller but I think you have to have either your Xbox 360 or PC on to power it up. Does anyone know if you can charge by just having it connected to the mains? If not is there a charger that can be bought that would just need to be connected to the mains to charge?
Thanks.
RE: Help me choose my new Plasma screen!! (narrowed down to 2...)

All the best.

RE: Help me choose my new Plasma screen!! (narrowed down to 2...)
I`ve just bought the Panasonic TH42PX60 and it`s fab. It also has 2x HDMI sockets and component. I did quite a bit of research on plasmas before I bought and it seems that most forums concerned with this subject seem to think that Panasonic and Pioneer are the best out there for the money.
I got it from John Lewis with the 5 year guarantee.
Happy plasma hunting.
RE: DVD for testing 5.1 system
House of Flying Daggers is great for hearing what your system can do. The `drum` sequence is superb. Kill Bill 2 is also pretty good.
Happy listening.
RE: Xbox 360 Headset
Cheers mate. With the poor quality on offer I thought I may have purchased a dud, but apparantly not.
Xbox 360 Headset
Just bought a Joytech headset for the 360 today. Was using my old Xbox headset before this on the 360. I thought the jack plug to plug into the controller would be different. By this I mean I thought it would have more than just 1 jack plug. On the controller there seems to be `room` to fit something else? Can anyone shed any light on what these other `holes` are for on the controller?
Perhaps they are just used has a bit more of a firmer grip for the official Microsoft headset to plug into?
Basically have I cocked up getting the Joytech headset?
Thanks.
RE: Xbox 360 - Patches
Thanks for the help.
Cheers.
Xbox 360 - Patches
Hello, when a patch comes out for a game for the Xbox 360 does it automatically download when you put the game disc in or do you have to do something in the Dashbord to download it.
I`m thinking of the patch for COD2, I don`t remember any update happening? Perhaps it did?
Thanks
Xbox 360 Headset
I`m using the Xbox (old headset) on my Xbox 360 and it works ok. I just wondered what the headset that is suppose to be for the 360 is like. Does it make a great deal of difference compared to sticking the old xbox headset in?
Thanks.
RE: Xbox 360 Wireless Controller
Thanks for the info. One last question though. How do you know when it needs to be charged? Do you get an indicator on the controller? If you do how long after the indicator comes on can you continue to use the controller before it dies?
Cheers again.
Xbox 360 Wireless Controller
I`m interested to know how the wireless controller is working and how it works in terms of charging it and how long the charge lasts for. Also, is there any problems in game play in terms of time lag when buttons are pressed etc. Apart from having to charge it are there any other differences to the wired controller?
Thanks.

Sexy Beast. The film not you.
RE: Clarification on connecting Xbox to internet
An ethernet cable is the cable that links the Xbox to your modem and/or the network card on your PC. I have a Netgear modem which I attach to my PC`s network card with one ethernet cable and my Xbox with another ethernet cable. This allows me to use Xbox live without having to have my PC turned on. If you have a PC and want to use it to connect to the internet and also play Xbox Live this is a good way of doing it.
The modem I have is the Netgear DG834 and I can highly recommend it. I bought it 6 months ago for about £50 I think.
Hope this helps.
Sky+ Advert - Picture Quality
I watched an advert for Sky+ this morning, the one where Ronaldinho scores at Stamford Bridge in the Champions League (toe pokes it into the net). The advert was on Sky Sports 1. The picture quality for this advert was far better than the live feed of the game. I have noticed this before for adverts but this particular advert seemed the best quality I`ve seen for a footy game.
Obviously Sky want to make their adverts look good but this suggests to me that we could now be getting a lot better picture quality in live games than having to wait until High Def comes in. I suppose it`s all down to Sky giving us quantity and not quality?
RE: Name one favourite scene in each star wars movie.
Do the credits in all of them count?
RE: Name your favourite top ten movies
Sling Blade
The Remains of the Day
The Godfather
Fargo
Goodfellas
It`s a Gift
Schindlers List
Pulp Fiction
Apocalypse Now
The Meaning of Life
RE: Do we have any FACE OFF fans out there.
Me too, I hate this film but do have the urge to have lunch or maybe a drink with members of the cast. I can`t explain it. The best scene for me is the roundabout scene at the beginning. Different class.
RE: Please help me to set up X-Box live!
I was asking for the same advice a few weeks ago and one of the writers to the forum told me to:
Buy a network card for your PC/laptop for about £10/£20.
And get an ADSL modem and router like the Netgear DG834.
Better than USB as it doesn`t use system resources and has a built in firewall.
I took this advice and it works like a dream and is really easy to set up. The Netgear modem/router was about £60 and well worth it.
Hope this helps.
RE: XBOX Live - Router Advice Needed
Got it all installed today. Works like a dream. Thanks again for all your help.
RE: XBOX Live - Router Advice Needed
Thanks for that. I`ve just ordered the Netgear Modem/Router for £61 and also bought a network card so I`m hoping i can get it all working in the next couple of days. I`ll let you know how I get on.
Thanks again for the advice.
RE: XBOX Live - Router Advice Needed
Thanks again.
Cheers.
RE: XBOX Live - Router Advice Needed
Thanks for the response. Another question, sorry. Do you know if it is a simple process to get the Netgear Modem/Router working to connect to the internet after I have plugged it in, and stopped using the Modem Wanadoo sent me?
Thanks again.
XBOX Live - Router Advice Needed
I would be grateful for your advice. I have Wanaddo Broadband which is a USB Modem. I only Have USB connections on my PC not Ethernet.
I would like to connect to Xbox Live and also still be able to use my PC for internet access.
I understand that I need a router but because my modem is USB I don`t seem to be able to find what I need as all the routers I`ve looked at seem to have Ethernet connectivity only.
I rang Wanadoo who advised me to buy there Wannadoo Home wireless set up but I don`t really need it to be wireless as I can use cables quite easily.
Hope someone can help.
Thanks

Panny TV and Yamaha Home Cinema System - Did I get a good deal?
Just purchased a Panasonic TX36PL32 TV and a Yamaha AVX-S80 and DVD for £1500 from Currys. The TV was up for sale at £1400 including a Panasonic home cinema system. I told the guy that I needed to have Optical inputs and the Panasonic home cinema didn`t have it so he said I could have the Yamaha one for an extra £100. The Yamaha system was priced at £500 to buy seperately.
I feel as though I`ve done Ok. What do you think?
Toshiba 36ZP38 100HZ 5.1 TV £1096
On offer at Dixons. You can get this price by entering pricerunner5 in your basket. Not sure if the TV is any good but it seemed like a great price to me. Would welcome an opinion on the quality.
