RE: Do you think a good quality gaming show could still work on TV?
I was so gutted on Sunday when i found out it was the last gamer tv. It by no means the great show it could be, but it fills the black hole absense there is for a gamer program on British TV. I usually Sky + the three different shows, and fast forward through each seeing whats new, and if anything took my fancy!
Considering the size of the gaming industry it really amazes me that there is no magazine show that focus`s on gaming.

yeh that`s how I used to watch it, I liked the way they covered all formats, and all genres, and now and again devote a whole show to 1 game/console/genre. I think broadband is the death of TV gaming progs. Gamespot does a few, they`re not amazing, but sometimes On the Spot (actually I haven`t watched it since Greg left) is quite funny, and if a game a stinker, they do say so :)

RE: Do you think a good quality gaming show could still work on TV?
Rufus Hound is new presenter, it`s basically the same program, different graphics, it`s still done by gamer.tv productions team, end credits are the same, script writer seems the same, i.e. a few dodgy sexual innuendos, presenter seems a bit drier than Sam was. 1st show, but seems he is reading a script, rather than being some-one who knows about games.

Since September 2005 the series has been produced by indie Lighthouse Productions Ltd.

at the end it came up "lighthouse productions"

PLayr 2 had a different presenter, Tim Beckman, more previews than reviews of upcoming attractions, has some-one playing the games, telling you what they`re doing. Playr 2 is like Gamer.tv Extra used to be.
showed GTA IV, bloke playing it doing voiceover was same English one who did Gamer.tv Extra voiceover while playing games.
Boom Blox (new Spielberg game) was also featured lots.
Showed some of the Lego games coming out - Indiana Jones, and Batman.

comedian who likes games apparently.
Playr Guide was devoted to Star Wars Force Unleashed, so is like the "Gamer.TV guide to..." program.

Playr vanished a few months ago,
Saturday and Sunday now have gameface and ginx on Bravo. Not watched yet, didn`t realise they were on, so don`t know if the Saturday 11:00 Bravo show is repeated Sunday 9:00, or if like gamer/playr, the new show is Sunday, then it`s repeated a few times until next week.

RE: Do you think a good quality gaming show could still work on TV?
It`s awful, have removed it from my planner. There`s no reviews but lengthy clips from games while the bloke talks randomly about things you are seeing. The indiana Jones review for the Wii, showed footage from the game while the bloke talked about little known facts to do with the films and at the end said something like "This is a great game if you like Indiana jones and have a Wii". That is just a terrible thing to say for a game which is getting 3/10 evewhere else and is plagued with some of the worst controls of a game in recent months. Similar thing with a "Review" for Infamous, the "Review" consisted of many facts to do with lightening and again said this is a geat game....
Watch it once but you will never get that time back.
Is that the time? Damn you PSWii60!!!!

watching this morning`s now, you`re right, it`s bad, much worse than gamer or playr :(
why review Transformers, Terminator, and feature Bionic Commando, they came out months ago :/
"live" phone in quiz was embarrasing, "dude".
Dizzy blone presenter woman seems to think she`s in a hip hop video the way she waves her arms around!
Bloke seems to be concentrating on reading the script to much, and as you say, they talk about background of what the ame is about rather than teh game. Review of Fight Night talks about Ali and Tyson rather than the game :/
