Page 1 of Wii... playing games off Hard drive?

Hello,

I was thinking of ripping my Wii games and putting them on an external USB hard drive, but i have heard that not all are compatible.

Anybody recommend a HD for me that is compatible with the wii .

I think it is more likely to be which games are compatible rather than which drive. But I stand to be corrected. I would like to know more about this subject from someone with personal experience.

I have run about 8 games off an 8gb USB stick and they run fine, its the HD which needs to be decided.

No, it`s the games AND the hard drive.
It`s also not something I`d recommend talking about via these forums as there are plenty of forums related to the question already out there.

Best place to start would probably be where you got the files to enable hard drive use in the first place.

I tried a couple of drives, an Iomega 500gb and 1TB drive, both did not work. Ended up going for a Western Digital MyBook 500GB (£55 from PCWorld) that I read worked on another forum. I can confirm that it works excellently and also the Wii powers it on and off.
