Page 1 of Any Retro Gamer magazine fans here?
Gaming and Consoles Forum
I`ve just started reading some of the early Retro Gamer mags, and I`m just wondering if the quality improves over time?
So many of the early articles I read had glaring mistakes and factual errors, or a complete misunderstanding of the context like it was written by somebody who wasn`t even born when what they were talking about came out, and hastily bashed together the article from scanning websites and forum posts, not actually checking what they`d written.
I quite like the idea of reading that kind of stuff, but if it`s not going to get any better I`m wondering if I should not bother checking out the newer ones if they have an article that interests me.

RE: Any Retro Gamer magazine fans here?
I have been meaning to have a look at my old collection....
Around the time the Japanese Megadrive and Snes came out up until the Dreamcast i probably bought every magazine on the shelf every month for years and most of them are scattered around my loft, i think i am only missing a few early Edge editions.
I never owned a PC until about 1998 so believed everything i saw in magazines.
Edit: I think you are talking about the new Retro mags that are out just now?

Edit: I think you are talking about the new Retro mags that are out just now?I think they`ve been out for a few years, maybe around Issue 120 or something now? The first few have covered things like Sinclair, Commodore and Acorn.

RE: Any Retro Gamer magazine fans here?
It`s my guilty pleasure,
I subscribe to it, and have done for a couple of years now. It is up to issue 105.
I like the majority of the last 20 odd issues with some real corkers, however some are a little hit and miss. I feel that the best has already been looked at but I still think it is worth it. I do look forward to it coming through the post and some can have you reading for a fair bit of time but some you can flick through.
They do cd`s with old full issues on it which are quite good at about a tenner for 25 odd back issues on it.
