PS2 Elvis Chip

Was browsing around and noticed the no solder Elvis chip. Anyone had experience with this. Don`t think I`ll be able to use it anyway, have to check my PS2 model, but wondered just in case.

there are no solder mods, but i dont think they are called Elvis, as Elvis is a messiah mod chip clone, which is meant to be a little tricky to solder. You are proberbly better off getting a messiah chip if your are going to open your ps2, as this will boot everything whereas i have heard the no solder chips can damage your laser when trying to read a DVD based game which has been ripped onto a cdr. Therefore possibly shortening the life of your ps2. Also i think the no solder chips need you to buy a action replay and then you have to disk swap. Messiah boots everything without disk swapping!

Yep, but means I have to solder, not too keen on this, and don`t want to pay the hiked prices of getting it fitted.

It comes down to the saying "You get what you pay for". Non-solder mods need an action replay or DVDX to boot. Messiahs are tricky to fit or cost a lot to get fitted. But they boot anything without having to use this "swap" method.
