Page 1 of Whats with the NEW pics on contents bar?

Is it just me or has anyone wondered why there is NEW next to most of the links on the contents bar?

Most of the links certanly arn`t new.

They ALL just came up as new a minute ago, even though I had just been to through all of them a wee while ago. Then after I went to one link, they went back to how they should be, with only a few in the forums bit coming up as new.

Something strange is going on.....

The forums have been marked NEW as long as I`ve been a member of them!

When you enter a forum on the right hand side, just above the first thread you should see:

NEW = New messages, Mark read: this forum or all forums

If you mark all forums as read then the NEW will be removed from the nav bar. Next time someone posts the NEW icon will appear again to tell you there hasbeen a new post since your last visit to that particular forum.

I was visiting the forums for 8 months before someone told me! :-)

Well, bugger me (not literally...just in case there are some of that persuasion!) he`s right you know.

I never knew that (I do rate highly on the dim scale though), just goes to show that you do learn something new every day.

I have marked all the forums as read and all the `new` logos have now gone.
