Important regional fish and chips question

Issac Hunt (Elite) posted this on Sunday, 22nd December 2002, 16:38

If you ask for some with your chips, what do you call those little bits of stray batter that have parted company with the fish and are piled up in a corner next to the fish. Around Newcastle it`s "Batter", somewhere in County Durham and into Yorkshire it becomes "Scraps" and it Derbyshire it`s "Bits". So what do you call them round your way? We need to know!

PS: "Thanks Chuck", "Och eye, Hen", "Watcha Cock", etc. Why are familiar generic names poultry related?

On the chip shop theme, due to the shortage of cod in these waters my local chippy is selling cod from Russia!!

It was big and very nice though! Looks like our fishermen out of a job!
