Page 1 of Aiwa or Toshiba?
General Forum
Which do i buy? i`ve heard that both are very good, both similar price, but which do you think is better?
I take it u mean the SD100 & the 370 .. i own both and believe me go for the Aiwa.
Aiwa has better picture quality , takes all types of discs i.e. cdr, cdrw, vcd NOT svcd though ..and plays mp3`s .it also has auto and manual region hack thru the remote.
Tosh is not as good picture quality ..only plays dvd`s or legal vcd/svcd ...no cdr /cdrw or mp3`s and only has auto region which is provided by specialist such as multi region magic or techronics.
Aiwa 370 Rocks!!!!

I am just about to buy a new DVD player myself and have been, looking at the Awia 370, tosh SD100 and Pioneer 535.
All I want this DVD for is for watching DVD`s multi regional. So I don`t care about MP3, CDR, CDRW etc. At the moment the Toshiba seems to be getting the thumbs up from what I have read on the net. You can get the toshiba multi regional for the same price as the awia. Only problem with the Tosh that I have seen is RCE, and there is a work around for this.
Then buy the Tosh!
Just don`t come screaming to us if ya find out it doesn`t handle some of the "problem" discs! :o)
AIWA 370 (officially) ROCKS!!!!!!!
I would go for hte pioneer 535 mate

Cheers for the advice, the only problem is i can`t actually find one. I spent 7 hours looking in 13 high street shops, and contacting 4 online shops. None of these had any DVD players under 200 pounds, apart from the LG 3200E. Most shops said they would be out of stock until February, so, of course, i bought the LG in the meantime, planning to take it back when they have the aiwa or tosh in stock. The LG 3200E actually seems quite good, pretty good picture and sound, just doesn`t play Mp3`s or CDR - CDRW. Are the Tosh and Aiwa that much better than the LG in terms of picture and sound quality?

Assuming the 3200 is using the C-cube as the 2880 and the 3350 does, the picture quality on the Aiwa will be IDENTICAL!
However, Comet have some in stock that can be ordered through their "National" number and delivered at £200, and I know of another supplier who has them too.
