Philips DVD 701 Info Needed

beale (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Sunday, 31st December 2000, 16:16

Hi,

Does anyone have any experience of this player. If so, could you please tell me what it is like as a player?

Also, has it got Dolby Digital on it?

Thanks

Ian

For the last time: read the posts...

NO it hasn`t got MP3 playback... the Aiwa 370 and LG 3350E do...
YES it can send Dolby Digital AND DTS signals (like most, if not ALL recent players).
NO it doesn`t have a built in Dolby Digital decoder... like the Aiwa 370 and the Pioneer 530/535, but the LG 3350E does....
YES it does play CD-R`s and CD-RW`s like the Aiwa 370, the LG 3350E AND the Pioneer 330/335.
YES it`s a good player.... like the Aiwa 370, the LG 3350E AND the Pioneer 530/535...

YES it`s virtually the same as the Philips DVD 711.
But it`s a silver version and has some connection (opctical out?) missing.

If u still want MP3, go for the Aiwa!
If u don`t still go for the Aiwa!
If u dont want an Aiwa, go for the Pioneer.
If u don`t want a Pioneer, go for the Philips.

Hope that will finally stop your hunger for knowledge (at least on these players) for a while.
