Page 1 of B******s at Customs!!!

I have recieved some DVDs today from DVD Soon (by the way very impressed with delivery 5 days includeing the weekend) and the bastards at customs stopped it and charged me £7, i was £1.80 over the £18 limit.

Thats the third time in the last few months iv been stopped, i think they must have something against me.

Anyone else been unlucky????

Never been stung yet. so how do they charge you,i mean they ain`t got your credit card number have they.

They put a card through the door telling you how much you owe and you have to go and collect it from the sorting office

Was the £19.80 inc postage or excluding? (just as a matter of interest)

I think customs are a lot more switched on these days, so it`s harder to slide things past. You need a friend in Canada to buy them for you and send them as a gift. :o)

Why don`t you try the like of future entertainment (etc) who are personal importers and ship the DVD`s locally so that you don;t get stung by customs.

I have found them to be just as cheap and of great service (when items are in stock)

Agreed with Sultan, try Play or Future Ent. A good thing with Future Ent is that they post the DVD as soon as they have it, so I usually get new releases before the official date.

I think you must have P*#ssed your postman off, i have taken delivery of several items from them over the last monthfrom DVDSoon, most of which have been £30+ haven`t been asked once to pay for import duty...

Even `gifts` from friends are subject to taxation.

I normally do use Play but even with the customs charges the DVDs are still cheaper on DVD soon.

I was just unluck that they were all sent together and DVD soon mark all their packages at $12 but having 4 items in the package it came to $48 so it was just over the limit.

I will just have to start being more careful with my orders
