Worst Movie to win an Oscar
So what do you think?
It`s got be a real Oscar mind, for actors and directors. Not one of those namby pamby technical ones.
I`m thinking Titanic.
A film I refuse to watch on general principle
Or on DVD...

No contest. A Beautiful Mind wins hands down, especially as it beat Lord of the rings to the oscar. What a travesty.
Rocky..
Moulin Rouge. What a pile`o`s***e.

I like Moulin Rouge ;-)
Has to be Titanic though. A smelly poo of a movie.

RE: Worst Movie to win an Oscar
Yep, I`d go with Titanic too. People used to think I was weird cos I hated this film.
Titanic deserved it.
Unforgiven and The French Connection were average at best and therefore the worst to win an oscar.

Personally, I think The French Connection is great.

I`ll go with `The Piano` ....I found it Cringemaking stuff.
(Not sure if it won best picture, but it did get something)
...I didn`t like Moulin Rouge either
Just my view.

RE: Worst Movie to win an Oscar
ok, i got a short memory but i`m pretty certain that Moulin Rouge! actually never won any major awards. To be certain I checked and it won Best Art Direction-Set Decoration and Best Costume Design. So, yes, it won Oscars, but not really any important ones. So it really doesn`t count. Me? I really, really like the film. I`d have to say Titanic (didn`t it beat The Truman Show that year?)

Actually, Truman Show didn`t get nominated. Also, if it had, that was Shekespear in Loves Year (also Elizabeth, Thin Red Line, Saving Private Ryan and Life is Beautiful).
Recently, a Beautiful Mind is really terrible. Ordinary People is not good (beat Raging Bull!). Chicago was fun, but not the best film by a long way. Driving Miss Daisy? No thanks.
Also, not too sure about The SOund of Music, Around teh Worls in 80 Days, The Greates Show on Earth.... etc etc.
Lets face it. Oscars are hardly the measure of a movie.
