Lord of the Rings : Return of the King?

Anyone seen any trailers for this yet and if so where can I see them?

I hear Peter Jackson slightly changed the ending because he thoughtthe books left you more or less high and dry without a great ending.

I have not read the 3rd book yet so don`t spoil the ending for me as anything that contains spoiler I completely avoid

Sam bums Frodo to death, then Gollum eats Frodo and while Gollum is eating Frodo Sam bums Gollum to Death as well. Sorry, I thought you meant Lord Of The Rings, the prison drama ;)

Edit: On a more serious note, there hasn`t been a trailer released online yet, but it was shown at Comic Con. So expect one soon :D

Did you see the sequel to that?
It was called Lord of the Brown Ring and they are working on a prequel called the Rusty ring (aka rusty bullet hole)

The ending to the book is good IMO, but i seem to remember hearing that it would be changed (like large chunks of TTT)

Also looking forward to a trailer!

The ending of Return of the King wouldn`t really make great cinema and I can see why certain aspects would need to be altered, just as the Tom Bomabdil section of FOTR needed cutting out to for pacing and cinematic reasons. LOTR is a great book, but a lot of it wouldn`t make a great film. There is a lot to take in and some of the sections do slow right down. I view the films as a companion to the book. If you read LOTR you get the whole picture, watching the films gives you all the best bits brought to you in an amazingly well made film...if you get my meaning!

I`ve just started to re-read the Fellowsip of the ring, and it now strikes me how much they have changed the story for the film. Yea, okay the main story is still there Bilbo gives ring to Frodo, Frodo goes to Rivendell, Fellowhip meet and go off to destroy the ring, Boromir dies, Frodo and Sam go off by themselves.

But Characters "motivations" have changed hugely, for example Frodo knew that Bilbo was off on his travels again, and Frodo is a lot older in the book. Gandalf wasn`t very suspicious of the ring until after Bilbo left, and was away from the shire for nearly 30 years. *sigh* It`s amazing how watching the films can make you "forget" what happens in the book.

I haven`t read the books so I don`t know how much of this makes sense, but I heard that the "scouring of the shire" sequence was cut from the end of ROTK and inserted into FOTR (where Frodo peers into Galadriel`s water-hole/well/pool thingy and sees the shire being burned to ashes) to give the ending a more linear feel.

The trailer is expected to screen ahead of Secondhand Lions (Robert DuVall, Michael Caine) this September. Not sure if it`s a teaser or what.
