Page 1 of What DVD player?

Hi I`m looking for a first DVD player. I have around £200 to spend, I am looking for a multi-region player, with dts sound and scart connector. It would also be nice if the player could play CDR and MP3.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Well there`s plenty of choice.

The Scan SC2000 is probably the best budget at the moment if you want something with all the extras, eg MP3 playback. But as you can see from other threads the current batch has problems (well done to Scan for recognising this and being as helpful as they have). So if you can either wait till their next batch is in, or hope the one they send now is ok, then that seems to be the way to go. Of course there are lots of other machines available, for example the LG3200 from Techtronics (multi-region, not MP3). There`s another LG that`s been delayed, the 3350, that will play MP3, but I don`t know what it`ll cost, and you`ll need to buy from a `multi-region` friendly dealer. Best advice - read as much as possible beforehand, but don`t delay too long, there`s always the next best thing about to come out.

BTW - I`m still really happy with my PC`s Hollywood Plus card, which is DTS ok, the computer plays MP3`s out through the sound card. Of course the computer fan noise can be a problem... unless you move it out of the way.
