Page 1 of Net MD Software
General Forum
Hello,
I am trying to put a few Minidiscs together for my Hols. and I am getting really naffed off with the SonicStage that was supplied with the Machine. It is cumbersome, not logical to use (to me anyway) and extremely slow.
Does anyone know if there is there any better Software out there, that will get my MP3s onto Minidiscs effectively ?
Hope someone can help,
Neil.
there is a pay-to-use software (called netWinMD I think) that allows free export/import (including imports of analogue-recorded sources which sonicstage dont allow) that costs @20 dollars.
never could use it cos i never had the appropriate credit card :(
agreed about sonicstage, like all of sonys prebundled software (movieshaker, etc) its all flashy, no substance. crashes yer computer all the time too.
would advise removing movieshaker and sonicstage (i cant remove sonicstage cos its my only import software :(

RE: Net MD Software
it`s been a while since i had my netmd (when they first came out) but the software that sony used to bundle was very good & fast i think it was called real jukebox (as in realplayer) but i`m not sure i`ll try to find out, and i`ll update this post.
EDIT=====IT WAS MUSICMATCH JUKEBOX tho i don`t know if it was a special version only for netmd, may be worth a download to try as i remember it was very easy to use.
hope this helps

Thanks very much for helping, I`ll look at those options.
The Matchmatch Jukebox sounds promising, I use it currently for transferring MP3s to a Fuji Camera; I wonder if there is a plug-in for use with a Net MD....
Thanks again,
Neil
I currently use OpenMG Jukebox which is fine for transferring from the PC music copied from your CDs and downloaded music, but it does not work in reverse. In otherwords if you do an analogue recording of vinyl or casette you cannot upload it on the PC thereby allowing you to convert to MP3 or any other format, this would be a good way for me to burn my LPs as CDs - does any of the software options above allow you to do this? Would be grateful for a response.
Brilliant, I`ve found something...
The Real One free player does it, with a Plug-in (That`s free too) (thanks ogster).
It doesn`t compress as much as SonicStage, but that`s no big problem really.
It`s quicker, easier, and a much less hassle than SonicStage.
Thanks again,
Neil.
GOLDWAVE (do a google) is excellent ripping software.
Free for a while, too... (3000 commands!!!!)
