Tomorrow is Battle Of Britain day, where is the Region 2 release of the film? You would have thought that there would be more of a remembrance than UK History showing "Finest Hour". Who else feels the same way? >:(
Just how many times do you want this film released once a year? Every BoB day, what about VoE or VJ day. How about releasing a WWII film every 11th November at 11 o`clock?
surely as `fritz` you would not want to remember the battle of britain... or many other WWII events??? 8)

All I meant to say was where is the region 2 version of this film? It was just an observation.
RE: Battle Of Britain
Ah fritz, for you ze var is over!
I`m sure there are going to be many little commemorations around the place mate, but most of these things are now going to be rather more personal remembrances, which isn`t necessarily bad. If you want more TV coverage, then it comes up every year, and there is always something on around this time. or, if you feel very, very deeply about it, give some money to the RAF charities, for which they`ll be grateful.
As for the Region 2 release, it`s about time we had the William Walton soundtrack as an option (the only thing that was kept was the `Battle in the Air` sequence), newly recorded if necessary, rather than the Ron Goodwin nonsense.
The last I heard, MGM had exactly that up their sleeve for the R2 release - fully restored anamorphic 2.35:1 transfer, DD5.1 sound and two (count `em two) mixes, one with the Ron Goodwin soundtrack and one with the original Walton soundtrack (which survives thanks to legendary sound engineer Eric Tomlinson) No news of a release date, but I wouldn`t be surprised if MGM make an announcement for 11 November.

I have an open mind - everything goes in one ear and out the other.
I heard on the radio that the Americans are planning a remake/new film and Tom Cruise will win the B of B single-handed. Gee that rings a bell-major film boycott necessary!Sue
