Page 1 of Whats The Best Prize You Ever Won?

I won tickets to Depeche Mode`s "Ultra Album" Launch Party at Adrenaline Village on Chelsea Bridge back in 1997 (through the fan club), it was a great showbiz exclusive night and the best part was drink as much booze as you could down and the band picked up the "tab", didn`t even have to pay for the cloakroom now there`s a novelty! I got to meet amongst others..the band, Gary Webb (Numan), and Sam Fox was knocking about also, at least i thought it was her but by this time i was too well oiled and thought the better of it .

Shame i didn`t bulls*** about why i was there when everyone asked who i was, maybe i wouldn`t be behind the desk that i`m at today or tomorrow even.....such is life!

My wife wins endless stuff on Virgin Radio, she`s at the Stones concert tonight courtesy of them, shes had a DAB radio and we went to see The Charlatans in Liverpool, perhaps i should give up the day job but then how`d i pay the phone bill? ;)

My favourite prize is the gold disc I was awarded for winning the Radio Forth "Old Gold Pop Quiz" in 1985. It was the only year that prize was awarded as, in previous and following years, the winner got the pick of 50 singles from the "Old Gold " catalogue.

Money-wise, the best prize I ever won was a £10k fitted kitchen (including all new electrical products)from Proter-Gamble (Fairy Liquid) for being the fastest dishwasher in the UK!

I won a Casio pocket colour TV from the gas board a few years` back.
Other than that ziltch - not even £10 on the bloody lottery!

Maybe you could teach my wife a trick or two.......with the dishes that is!

Best monetary prize was a whopping £75 on a fruity back in 1991, mind you that was a lot of money in those days!

My mate won a brand new Mazda MX-5 and a year`s fully comp insurance from one of those glossy car mags a few years back for drawing a line on a picture of a test-track where the car would run out of petrol after filling up and just driving around until it was empty.

I won my dvd-recorder thanks to the evening standard a while back. Didn`t even tell me i had won it - a courier just turned up and gave it to me. It was one of those `100 dvd recorders to be won by midnight` type phone things.

Just short of £1,100 on the lottery a few years ago - we got 5 numbers on a "lucky dip" ticket.

I`ve not played it again since!

My Mum & Dad won a Toyota Celica, from the Sun back in the early eighties...
Me... i won a day out with the one2one pit-stop stunt plane for me and the wife (girlfriend at the time), she absolutely loved doing all the loop the loops and dive bombing etc.. me well it was an experience (not one i would do again)!

£50 of Homebase vouchers - Bit of a result because I only popped my head in the door to get a balloon for my son & entered the draw at the same time.
