England....to play or not ?

What a mess, part of me thinks they`re all idiots and don`t deserve to play for their country if that`s their attitude, as there are hundreds of other players that would give their left eye to play and represent their country and you`d be surprised just how well some of the lower league players might perform..cup games are a testimony to that!

However the other side of the coin is the "work colleage" unfairly judged idea.

Personally i feel the FA have shot themselves in the foot this time, if only they`d left this another week, even if england do play will they play to win for Rio or just let the Turks give us a real pasting which is a fingers up to the FA and then hold them(FA), to ransom over the play offs.

UEFA say if we (England) don`t play then were out full stop. That makes me resent the striking players so what should England do?

Ferdinand didn`t turn up for his drug test so he`s broken the rules, where`s all the fuss come from?

They should have either sorted it out 3 weeks ago when it happened, but this would have been difficult becuase they are obligated to give him a certian amount of time to consult lawyers etc before a hearing, or they could have kept quiet until the Turkey game had passed, obviously letting him play, which I think they should have done.

Of course they should play. The FA should tell them to play or strike and if they still want to strike they can forget playing for their country ever again. Typical actions of footballing tarts.

It is unfortunate but he broke the rules and so the appropriate action has to be taken IMO.

I agree.
The man is paid what? £100,000 a week or something silly like that and he can`t remember he`s got a drugs test? One wonders how he manages to get to work in the morning.

The FA could have let him play, that`s probably what they were going to do but someone who wasn`t happy leaked it. So they had to be seen to be doing something. If they didn`t drop him from the side, the turkish fa and uefa would have been crawling all over them.

If those players strike, they can kiss their international careers goodbye. They can probably kiss living in this country, goodbye as well. They`re not doing themselves too many favours at the moment with the threat, especially considering the state football`s reputation is in at the moment.

But then you can`t expect much from people who never got a proper education or were too busy playing football to study.
