Today was destined to be another normal day, until a phone call at 11.20am changed all that...

My Mum phones me - hysterical i may add - and trying to tell me something. By the time she`d calmed down, her friend comes on the phone and tells me that my 10year old brother has been knocked down on a busy street >:( >:( >:(

Before we all ask, "what was your mum doing not watching?", Alex suffers from mind absences what should have been a routine crossing of the road, (plenty of people who saw it said he had no danger around him), turned into a small nightmare for the poor little lad.

The best bit? The woman who hit him

Needless to say the Police are NOT happy that she drove off. A BMW hitting an inanimate child at 10mph is not good. Thank god he`s only broken his arm, his nose, his cheekbone, looks like he`s been smashed in the head with a hammer and is now limping badly.

Sorry to put this on here, but i`m angry at people who don`t look where they`re going and even worse, just don`t even stop to see if he`s alright! Ok i understand people are in shock when things like that happen, but the people who saw it said she showed no emotion or remorse. My mum is tamping and worried to death, and i`m as angry as hell.

Once the police catch her, i hope she has her license taken from her. Grrrrrr >:(

How can the person just drive off after that? Unbelieveable. Lets hope the police catch up with her and ban her from driving.

More importantly though lets hope that your little bro is ok and makes a swift recovery.

What makes it worse is that cause of his condition, (as well as being run over, he suffers from Tourettes Syndrome, Attention Deficit Disorder, and Epilepsy amogst other things), he doesn`t understand why the woman didn`t ask if he was ok. The people who saw it were really angry about it and thankfully got her license plate so at least she`ll be found. Worst thing is that a young lad got killed just around the corner and the street my brother got run over on has had traffic calming put in to stop people blaring up the road.

I just thank his lucky stars she wasn`t going full pelt - i dread to think what else i`d have been writing instead :(

My commiserations Westy. Were there no witnesses who got her number ? Let`s hope so, because she will not be a happy lady(?) when the police catch up with her. Hit and run is a VERY serious offence.

Isn`t that a Hit and Run?

That should mean at least some form of punishment in the way of time rather than a fine.

I hope the little guy gets on the mend quickly.

It most certainly is. Commiserations first off though Westy and at least he will recover from it.

But this woman is in serious strife now though. Not only is she guilty of causing an injury but driving away from an accident is itself a crime. With the license plate (as long as it is hers) then it will not be very long at all until she hears someone knocking at her door.
