I agree the touchscreen should not limit your purchase decision as i personally don't find it that useful (you'll naturally go to use the trackpad anyway - just one of those things!)

FWIW you can't go wrong with Asus, some of the best laptops i've used have been by them and they seem to have the least bloatware.

I use a desktop for my main video editing/heavy work, but for just getting daily things done (like typing this), i use a Chromebook - just so reliable and easy to use (although not without limitations)

Just my opinion though, there's plenty out there but that's also the problem, the laptop market is more saturated than the pitta bread in a kebab!

Oh, and when they played God Put a Smile on Your Face it sounded incredible - with the roof shut (due to pouring rain outside) at the Principality Stadium the acoustics were amazing

It certainly is! The crowd reaction when they first lit up at the start of the concert was magical (sounds cheesy but it really was). I managed to catch it on video...

Me and the Mrs went to see Coldplay in Cardiff for our anniversary on 11th July. Wow what a spectacle, the combo of the lighting, stage and those cool Xylobands made for a hugely enjoyable concert.

I'm not as into Coldplay as Caroline is but I thoroughly enjoyed it, as a band they've clearly nailed it as they sounded amazing for the whole show - and Chris Martin didn't stop jumping around, god knows how many Weetabix he's on for breakfast 😁

Just catching up on this with iPlayer, anyone else see it? Amazed at how tight the BBC Orchestra is, sounds incredible!

Got to admit when I heard the Superman theme I almost cried. If a piece of music can symbolise one man I think the Superman Theme pretty much sums it up.

Pre-Ordered a Rose Gold 64gb for her last night to replace her ageing (but still pretty nifty) 4s.

Before hitting submit I did question the fact that another £100 or so can get you a poverty spec Macbook Air.....

Never mind, I'm going to pay it off over 6 months - even the upgrade prices with Three network are absolutely crazy, best they could do for us was £48 a month. That's £1152 over two years, no thanks.

I love iPhone's if I have one to have a play around with but i could never own one - the whole iTunes thing drives me absolutely insane!!

Worth it at least for showing off your AV system! Not a bad film but it's hampered by it's lengthy run time (like Titanic and The Abyss - James does like his long movies!!)

The new 360 has a vastly improved processor inside (Snapdragon 400 instead of the ageing and inefficient Texas Instruments OMAP processor) which alledgedly improves the battery life significantly.

I've heard the price is a bit of a sting mind, so best to have a shop around for other smart watches unless you have your heart set on the 2015 edition. The Asus Zenwatch and LG Watch Urbane are excellent and can be found for good prices if you shop around.

sj in reply to your question, not using the Aegos anymore. Sold the entire system to a friend and we now have a Panasonic all in one system instead - our room simply isn't big enough for seperates and it would also be a bit of a waste!

The Pana is an absolutely awesome system though, crispy clean sound and the processing is actually a hell of a lot better than i thought it would be - a terrific surprise 

Mark, i live in Bridgend but still work in Cardiff. Although i work out of hours now so you won't see me during the day from Sunday to Wednesday!

How are you both anyway? Are the usual gang still here?

Nokia will no doubt return, it's almost inevitable some plucky investor has their money waiting for the Microsoft embargo to be loosened next year.

Although, saying this i'm not sure there is a market for Nokia's quirkiness anymore if they want to go all nostalgic with their wacky designs!

Would love to see them come back with a good two fingered return to the dross Microsoft have been churning out with alarming pace recently. Windows Phone is ok but having so many models is plain stupid - the prices differences of around £10 between certain models just doesn't seem to make good business sense at all.

Be interesting to see what happens over the next 12 months...

Android is great on a mobile, but doesn`t do it for me in Tablet form. Used an ipad before and they are absolutely amazing!

However I need to convince myself that I can do without a laptop :-)

Hello.

How do all on this dreadful november evening?

Moving into my new house on 19th, and was wondering about getting an ipad instead of a laptop? Pig sick of Windows machines needing constant babysitting and breaking.go, so was thinking oct indulging in apples lovely tablet :-)

Any thoughts??

MAD, the PowerAmp audio player is absolutely incredible, easily matches the iphone audio quality.

I can easily get a day and a half from the S2 with heavy usage. I used Juice Defender to help with the battery, very clever app indeed!

Right then, some very decent replies here, nice to see people that used the iphone as it`s intended. I.e. as a device that can be an all in one. Tidy.

When it came to upgrade time about 2moro months ago, I was offered a simply amazing retention deal on a new iphone 4, however something was nagging me, "is it time to try something different?". I asked the friendly guy on the phone if I could hold the deal and call him back after a bit of deliberation, "no problem".....

An hours later I made a large gamble, this gamble really opened my eyes, it turned out. I went for the new Samsung Galaxy S2. Oh. My. God.

No matter how many people that see it, they just can`t put it down. It is simply an incredibly slick piece of kit. Having thought the Retina display was the best thing I`d ever seen, when I first booted the S2 my eyes were out on stalks!! The Super AMOLED Plus screen on this bad boy just makes the retina seem a bit dull (it actually hurt me to say it!), it is incredibly vibrant and full of detail.
Next is the speed, massively fast and never ever hangs, brilliant camera, great multi tasking, superb audio quality, plus with Threes HSPDA network speed it`ll download a full movie over the air from the Android market in about 20minutes!!!!

My point here as that I could have easily gone for the soft option and gone for another iphone, but I just fancied a change IOS`s beauty also causes its downfalls, and I just hope those due for upgrades realise there is a whole world of brilliant handsets that will do anything Apples baby can, it`s good to be different!!

The Nokia N9, is the closest phone yet to the simplistic beauty of Apples handset. Yes, I know you can`t get them over here, but they`re very easy to import and work perfectly with all UK based sim cards.

It is a beautiful handset and works so fluidly it kind of has you hooked from that first swipe on the screen.

Even gsmarena said this is the closest anyones come to matching Apples design ethos....

Right, first up I`m hoping RJS will allow this in here as the PC and Mobiles thread seems a bit quiet and a bit bereft of action. Cross fingers....

Right, down to business. There appears to be this rather worrying trend whereby people are being continually sucked into this train of thought that the good old iPhone is the only phone to own. This is wrong.

People aren`t wrong to say it`s good, it is, very good. HOWEVER, it is not the only very good phone out there and I bet given the chance, many many people would have chosen a different handset had their friends not led them to believe that iPhone is the best phone ever made. It is most certainly not.

So, for the purpose of peeps looking to see what really are the best phones out there, reasons for and against and viable alternatives to help them along :-)

I`m all good mate, how`s you? I speak to clayton from time to time on facebook, he`s doing well and has finally cut his hair.

To those questioning my dolby/dts argument, well now things really are better! Dts hd MA 7.1 knocks the crap out of dolby true hd audio, but the 7.1 tracks are very sparing in quantity these days...

My one man mission these days is trying to get people to take off their poo tinted glasses when it comes to the bloody iphone!! after using one and seeing what else is out there I just cannot fathom out why people have this alliance to stick up for it when there are phones out there that totally blitz it.....perhaps I`m misunderstood like Liberachi????? Lol

Getting Uncharted 3 for xmas. I`ll be fair, Battlefield 3 left me distinctly unimpressed and was swiftly traded in. will wait to see how mw3 fares. All these war shooters are getting.go a bit stale for my liking.
really looking forward to Uncharted 3, it looks absolutely epic!
