RE: Cheapest dvd player..I Might have the answer!
The cheapest dvd player which i have recently spotted was "Alba".which is sold exclusively through Argos! The price is only £150.
I was reading a dvd magazine and it got a really good write-up!
The Magazine gave the Alba 4/5.
Good luck!
Dave.
Or for a bit more (179 pounds) get down to Tesco and get a Wharfedale 750 which is region-hackable via the remote and got 5-stars from What Hifi?
The Wharfedale is well known and respected while the Alba is a new kid on the block.
I`ve got one and its great.

RE: Cheapest dvd player..
Hi
I have seen Matsui DVD110`s for 149.99 pounds in some Currys stores.
This to is multi region hack-able.
I have one and I am very pleased with mine.
The cheapest is the Alba A103 DVD Player sold @ Toys R Us for £139.
It had a very good write up in one magazine and is Region 1 & 2 ready straight out of the box with no modification needed. I have heard that it will also play mp3 cd-r`s although can anyone confirm this?
It plays region 4 as well.
There us also the Proline DVD1000 from a lot of Woolworths` shops for £149 and the ALBA is apperently a bit s***ty
Yes I can confirm it plays mp3`s with no problem at all...
