Page 1 of Xmas No 1`s?

Personally, the integrity of this position went down the toilet when Mr Blobby got there, but at least some of the tracks have a xmassy feel to them. Bill Nighy will be releasing his sing from Love actually, then there`s Noddy and Basil Brush (godhelpus). Westlife and atomic kitten will be releasing the obligatory unxmassy pap, but the winner for me has to be a song that`s been around for years, yet has never been released...
Mad World by Gary Jules from the Donnie Darko sountrack
EDIT: just heard the new one from The Darkness, we have a new second place!

I can`t help worrying that the absolutely atrocious version of "Happy Christmas/War Is Over" by the Pop Idols will do quite well. >:( :( :o
Agreed - let`s have Mad World at 1, The Darkness at 2.
Has to be Mad World - but is it plasticky enough for the single buying audience? Fell for this song last year when I heard it on Donnie Darko. If I listen to it at the wrong moment, it can make me feel all damp round the eyes.

You do realise this is a cover of a Tears for Fears song reaching No 3 in the UK charts in 1982

Yes, being of mature years, i remember the originals. I was referring to Gary Jules` version, which blow`s the original out of the water, AFAIC
