DVD`s in your collection you wish you`d never bought...

Ben Franklin (Reviewer) posted this on Sunday, 11th January 2004, 21:17

I know that some of you must look through your film collection and think "why on earth did I buy that?". I certainly do and thus I`m now very careful with what I buy...

So everyone, what DVD`s in your collection do you really wish you`d never bought?

Here`s one I regret...
Big Mommas House (had never seen it, bought it at the spare of the moment. Only ever watched half of it)

Anyone else?

Some, such as the two Scary Movies, but on the whole I`m really pleased with my 186-strong collection. The ones I do have for sale can be found via the link in my sig... :-D

There are quite a few in my collection that I`m not overly fond of, but not that many. Some were gifts (Tomb Raider), others freebies (Dr Dolittle), but I`d never sell them. A Collection should have a broad range of titles, good and bad. I`ll never sell any of my DVDs, unless they`re duplicates or an inferior version (ie, X-Men was replaced with X-Men 1.5).

I bought the House trilogy.

The first one is a classic.
The second one is very poor.
The third one is just plain old horrible and stinking.

Little Nicky (will NEVER buy anything with Adam Sandler in it again)
Baise-Moi

and a few DVDs which I did want, but went for a Region subesquently discovered to be lacking in the extras I would have wanted, or those which have since come out in a Special Edition (which I`m buying steadily, and will probably get rid of the spares for a quid or two each).

Have you seen Punch Drunk Love?
If not I would seek it out as it`s rather good :D

Office Space. Utter garbage, except for the beating up the fax machine bit.

I`ve heard Baise Moi is good? Or is it just a glorified porno?

I try to make sure that everything I buy is either a Special Edition (less chance of a newer version coming out it seems) and that its a film that I really want to own. I barely ever buy blind (in other words not knowing what the film is like beforehand).

Want to start collecting some more classics; things that are worth owning. Is "One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest" any good?

Rambo Trilogy.
Nice box but I should have just got `First Blood` as Rambo II was pretty dire and Rambo III was just plain ****.

The DVD or the actual film?
I can tell you the film is amazing, one of the few that lives up to it`s reputation. 8)
