..or at least, was found hanging in his cell....somehow, I doubt that this news will create nationwide mourning of `Diana-esque` intensity.

Was thinking though, being that Shipman has killed over 200 people, is he classed as the biggest ever serial killer?

I think so, certainly in this country anyway....what an appalling way to be remembered.

if the whole business wasn`t so nasty, I`d find the fact that he was sentenced to 15 life terms PLUS the all-important 4 years for forging a will quite amusing.

Well at least it saves the tax payer some money. Incidentally how much does it cost to keep someone like him in prison per year. I was thinking that these days the NHS will pay for patients to go over to France etc for ops then why not investigate the possibility of sending all of our category A prisoners to another country to serve their time. somewhere like China could probably do it for about a quarter of our costs - nice little earner for them and we save money and empty a few prison cells. Or am I being a bit harsh!!

I heard that some of the relatives were hoping that he would one day explain why he killed and how many he killed. Now they will never know.
