Alba DVD103 - MP3 comaptible or not?

Bob999 (Harmless) posted this on Monday, 14th August 2000, 18:57

Im thinking about geting a replacement for my Daewoo, which is beset by problems. I was looking at the Alba, I know it is region free but can anybody confirm if it can play MP3 discs? I heard this somewhere but cannot find anything to confirm it. Also, how does it handle CDR / RW`s?

Just one more thing, am I right in thinking that the Macrovision cannot be disable? This is not a major point, but it would be nice to have the option.

cdrs are fine, not tried cdrw. Wondering about the mp3 thing, would I just store the mp3 in the CD root, and the player should recognise them? Can`t imagine the CD player can navigate directories :-)

Anyway, with blank CDs around 50p-55p each, I can afford to burn the mp3s as .wavs

It may well navigate dirs, the Scan does.

Although I loave its overall performance the scan seams to be the best for MP3 Playback(most players dont give you an onscreen directory of all mp3 files).
