APEX AD600A W/ N4 CHIPSET???

I HAVE AN APEX AD600A DATED 1/2000 WITH THE N4 CHIPSET AND BOARD INSTEAD OF THE A8. A8 WILL NOT WORK, TRIED IT. DIEHARD, DIDN`T GIVE UP AND AFTER PLAYING WITH THE REMOTE FOR AWHILE I WAS ABLE TO DISABLE THE MACROVISION SO I CAN PLAY DVD`s THROUGH MY VCR, TV DOES NOT HAVE A/V I/O. THIS SEEMS TO BE GOOD FOR ONLY ONE PLAY THEN I HAVE TO START THE GUESSING GAME ALL OVER TO PLAY ANOTHER DVD. QUESTION: IS THERE A WAY TO QUICKLY OR PERMANENTLY DISABLE MACRO IN THE N4 OR AM I DOOMED TO HAVE TO SPEND 15+ MINUTES IN THE GUESSING WORLD?!?!?!?!?
