Page 1 of american psycho (i dont get it)

i know its been out for a while but on a recent journey to the states i picked up this movie in a bargain bucket. after hearing great things i sat and watched. it goes like this... looney bloke.....ok loads of sex....fair enough cop gets suspicious.......ok funny scene with chainsaw....haha the end?

what the hell was the point to it all....?

It is a silly film isn`t it?

I thought it had loads of potential and the acting was really great but it just didn`t gel together right. It was a bit of a mess really.

Shame.

The `point` was that maybe, just maybe all the killings and psycho thoughts and comments he made were just a figment of his imagination. Try watching it again - it makes sense.. the film doesn`t do the book justice though..

I found the total lack of tension made it a bit dull for me too. The ending was a bit stupid and reminded me somewhat of another film which I won`t mention in case anyone here hasn`t seen it and makes the connection that would spoil their enjoyment of it. ;-)

If you are thinking of the film that I am then it is ten times better than American Psycho. Remember when people were going around talking about the end of Sixth Sense - lucikly I managed to see it before anyone had the chance to tell me.

(Oh no I`ve shot my self in the face ... oh it`s alright it`s only lodged in my jaw, that should trick him!)
