What is your all time favourite song/tune?
Title says it all. I was asked this, and it`s not an easy question. With films you can usually pick one, but most songs last about 3 minutes and you soon bore of them. But there are always `those` tunes that you can just listen to over and over again.
To me, 99% of music does nothing for me. I mean, there is a lot of stuff out there so 1% is still quite a lot I suppose. But music to me is all about emotion. If it doesn`t engage that fuzzy feeling in your heart, make you smile or just generally make you happy (or sad, but sad because the tune is wonderfully depressing ;) ) then I will forget it instantly.
Now, I am not saying this is my favourite tune, but if I had to pick a song that I`ve liked for a long time and still like now, it would be Don`t Fear The Reaper by the Blue Oyster Cult. That`s what I said when I was asked at least. But there are literally thousands of tunes you can say that about.
But anyway, what song/tune would you say is your favourite. Remember, just one! :)

Louis Armstrong "Wonderful World". Hated it when people started using it ironically.
J Mark Oates
Semper in excrementum

Saudade - by Love and Rockets
An instrumental that appeared on their first LP - Seventh Dream Of Teenage Heaven.
With a crescendo to die for, it`s one of those song/tunes that compliments what ever mood you are in.
Live a life you love, use a god you trust, and don`t take it all too seriously

There`s a song by Jacques Brel, `Desperate Ones` which always brings out those goose-bumps. Especially when I hear the Nina Simone version. Very haunting voice, amazing song.

I reckon I`m going to get ripped to shreds for this but.........
Virtually anything by Eminem - the bloke is a lyrical genius.
But before you lay right on into me, read this....
My favourite band of all time is Guns `N Roses (words and music) - but I love hardcore too,(Dance and Metal :D ) through to House, to Jungle to Heavy Metal, to Old 80`s Romantics etc - but.....
...there is no person (alive), I reckon, who is as thought provoking (if you can get past the profanity - my Mum still can`t, although she likes the "tune") with his writing as the big E.....and his tunes always get me thinking about my life.
That is why, if I had to choose one tune that was the one I would want with me forever, I reckon it would be the perfect mix of "Patience - By Eminem" :D :D
