Went out to a family party last night. A great night to celebrate the in-laws joint 60th birthdays and Wedding Anniversary.
The wife drove because she`s pregnant.
Went out at 12:30 to pull the car to the front to put some presents etc. in.
Some twat has broken into the car. It`s a Ford Focus and they obviously couldn`t beat the locks easily. So they did this.

What were they after? Radio? Nah.

If you`re still not sure, the twats have stolen the airbags from the car. Some nasty protruding bolts from the steering wheel now >:(
They`ve obviously known what they were doing and had the kit to do it because after destroying the trim under the steering column they`ve then had to remove lockbolts holding everything in place and I would have thought the passenger one isn`t a 10 second job either. I hope they die.
Anyone else heard of the `market` for airbags? There seems to be one. Was talking to a friend who says a mate of his has a Focus and exactly the same thing happened to him a few weeks ago.
The police went through the motions of Crime No. etc. but weren`t really interested in coming to see it.

Maybe they were actually Ford Rally engineers and they were simply trying to help by `lightening` the car......I`ve seen the motors on Top Gear like the 911 GT-something-or-other where they have gone so mad on weight reduction, the badge on the front was a sticker rather than an actual badge!


If the above is true then I think Ford should be recommended on the Retailers Forum ;-)



Sorry mate - all joking aside, that`s a true s***. You wouldn`t mind nearly as much if it was just the stereo as that wouldn`t have destroyed your whole dash.

I join you in your anger Steve. I`m just totally fed up of people who do things like this.

Unbelievable what scum will do - so, for the sake of 2 airbags they`ve shagged the door of your car meaning a new doorskin, it will need the whole side painting, a new dash plus all the labour costs.

Probably in excess of £2000 - tossers.

Thats why I got a Focus as I thought nobody would vandalize it!

Feel for you Ste. Got myself an ST late last year and been dreading the day someone trys to take either it or the wheels, xenon lights or whatever else they can.

Part of the problem is though that there are people who dont do the stealing, but they "know someone" who can get them the parts cheap. They know how, but as long as they save a few quid it isn`t thier problem.

So who`s worse? The thieving scum, or the ones who support the market for stolen parts by buying them. And whats the bet that whoever buys them isnt insured either, hence the need to replace parts on the cheap using your car as a donor.
