dvd.reviewer.co.uk now on the banned list where I work

After checking this site every lunchtime for the last 4 months I have been with my latest company, It now comes up "ACCESS DENIED". It turns out all those irritating pop-ups for dating agencies, casino`s & "to claim your prize, call this number" are to blame. They class the dating ones as something of a sexual nature, the gambling one is pretty standard anywhere and we are not allowed to make personal gain using company equipment eg winning prizes, entering contests and making money on Ebay, even in our own time. Looks like I`ll be even later in missing out on things like the Argos bargains.

Can`t they just ban the adserver domains instead? :)

That is v unfortunate. reminds me though, I meant to say this ages ago, that we recenlt had some software to show most visited sites on the internet. Not many ppl have internet access, but this site was in top 10, I like to think that is mostly down to me :)

We do have some software to stop you going to "naughty" sites, so I hope it doesn`t effect us.

Your IT dept may be able to block the linked ads, depends on the software I guess.

I remember when I used to work some ppl got in trouble for looking at "inaapropriate material" it seemed like they had used web mail, had opened some spam which had got images for "adult content" and so that hadn`t got blocked, but the software counted the image download as a site visit

i used to work for an insurance company.

spent loads on preventing access to "inappropriate material".

However, they forgot to block www.anonymiser.com

Give it a try - it forwards you anonymously to the target website.
